Orbital Tourism: The First Commercial Space Hotels Welcome Initial Guests
This week in February 2026, the "Stellaris Outpost" has officially opened its hatches to non-astronaut guests. For $250,000, travelers can now experience luxury in low-Earth orbit, marking the true beginning of the Space Tourism economy.
The Experience: Guests stay in modular pods with 360-degree views of Earth and participate in "Micro-Gravity Yoga" and "Orbital Photography."
Sustainability: The outpost is powered entirely by the same SMR (Small Modular Reactor) technology we analyzed in our Environment section.
The Waitlist: Despite the high price, the waitlist for a 3-night stay currently stretches into 2028.
